Origin

The Jewel Mondain pigeon was developed in 1946 by Everett Milstead in Dayton, Ohio, United States. Milstead was previously a breeder of the White Swiss Mondaine pigeon and conceived the idea of creating a new breed with specific characteristics.

Breed Characteristics

The Jewel Mondain pigeon is a large breed with a well-rounded and impressive body. It has a broad chest, short body, and prominent legs. The feathers on its neck and back are arranged in a fan-like display, adding to its regal appearance. The average height of a Jewel Mondain pigeon is around 40 cm, and mature birds weigh between 850 and 1,130 grams.
